2011 February Reading

Batman: The Return Of Bruce Wayne

Batman’s return to the DC universe by way of six points in time.  Each chapter drawn by a different artist gives the story a hit-and-miss feel.  The story is cohesive if slightly convoluted.

Usagi Yojimbo: The Special Edition

Full review here.

Sandman: The Dream Hunters

A fairy tale love story told in feudal Japan.  Simple, clean and beautiful art by Russell.

Nemesis

Daytripper

A wonderful look at a life’s unique moments and the ripples they create.  Lots of talk about the character dieing at the end of every issue but it only plays into the obituary for that moment in life.

Steve Rogers: Super Soldier

Story and art feels rushed.  Ends on a cliffhanger like a monthly book, not a found issue mini series.  Terrible Pacheco covers.

Ultimate Comics Avengers: Crime & Punishment

Introducing the Punisher and Ghost Rider into the Ultimate universe.  Fast paced story, classic Yu art.

Spider-Man: Big Time

Fantastic Four By Jonathan Hickman Volume 3

A future version of the team continues to appear, leading us up to something.  Art is weak this time around with Eaglesham replaced by Edwards; inkers dominate the art.
